VARIANT PROJECT FOR THE SOUTH CLOSURE OF THE SPHINX BASIN. PHASE 1 – HAMMER

[bloque_categoria_proyecto]
Location:
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands (Spain)

Drafting of the Tender Project, adapting the Base Solution to the contractor’s means, changing from square-cell caissons to circular ones. The works consist of the extension of the existing Sphinx breakwater in a north–south direction with a total length of 34.00 m (1 caisson), and a second alignment in an east–west direction with a total length of 100.00 m (3 caissons). The Sphinx breakwater runs parallel to the Reina Sofía breakwater at an approximate distance of 814 m. The 4 new floating reinforced concrete caissons are of circular cells filled with granular material, maintaining the external geometry of the Base Project.
