As part of the works for the new Port of Granadilla, the construction of a counterbreakwater is included.
The calculations carried out in this study are due to the installation of a buoy in the Port area, which modified the design wave climate. In addition, the change in the works schedule means that the counterbreakwater is not sheltered by the breakwater during the construction phase, so the design incident wave conditions are more severe
The calculations carried out are:
. Stability calculation for the counterbreakwater caissons under the new incident wave conditions. . Reinforcement design for the caissons, both those directly exposed to wave action and the quay-type units. The reinforcement is analysed in the construction phase and in the design phase.
