VARIANT PROJECT FOR THE SECOND SECTION OF THE MULTIPURPOSE QUAY AT THE PORT OF GRANADILLA, ISLAND OF TENERIFE

[bloque_categoria_proyecto]
Scope:
Tender project
Location:
Tenerife, Spain

The purpose of this project is to define and assess the works necessary for the construction of the aforementioned infrastructure, modifying the Base Project regarding the lightening of the caissons and the beam, moving from caissons with a 16.75 m beam at the shaft and a 0.25 m footing overhang to caissons with a 19.6 m beam at the shaft and slab.
The number of caissons from the Base Project is maintained, i.e., five (5), as is their length. Furthermore, the last caisson of the quay has an additional 2 m of depth, so that it is founded at the -18.0 m level, allowing the quay’s draft to be increased to 18 m over a length of 30.05 m and ensuring that the future extension (a third phase) can be executed directly with an 18 m draft.

The following works are carried out under the project:

• Stability calculation (beam) for caissons anchored at the -18 level. This beam is maintained for the remaining caissons.
• Structural dimensioning of the caissons.
• Naval stability calculations for the caissons.
