Project

The project’s objective is to define and justify the seawater intake system, brine discharge, and pump chamber for the Taweelah desalination plant. The main characteristics of the project are as follows: • Maximum intake flow rate of 27.0 m3/h (23,334,784 m3/d) • Maximum discharge flow rate of 16.51 m3/s (425,566 m3/d) • Discharge system via 3 pipelines with an external diameter of 2 m. • The proposed water intake includes a channel protected by two parallel rockfill breakwaters (764 m in length). • The pumping station configuration is designed considering the requirements for adequate hydraulic performance and structural maintenance.
