The project includes the detailed design of the desalination plant’s subsea pipelines, including the intake structure and the diffuser section.
The pipeline characteristics are:
• Material: PE100.
• Pipeline specification: intake Øe=800 mm SDR 26 and discharge Øe=560 mm SDR 26
• Length: 709 m discharge and 510 m intake
• Maximum flow rates: intake: 3.6 m3/s and discharge: 0.76 m3/s
A detailed study has been carried out of the following aspects:
• Sea state based on NOAA data.
• Route optimization, complying with the EIS and running through the concession area.
• Ballasting process.
• Temporary platform for the surf zone.
• Initial dilution study using Visual Plumes software.
• Auxiliary components for proper operation: air valves, trawl guards, manholes…
