  • Description:

    Design of the water intake caisson for the Combined Cycle Power Plant of Granadilla, in Tenerife.

    The caisson is 32.1 m in length, 10.3 m in width and 9.41 m in height. It is divided in two water intake channels with their corresponding stop log, filters and grilles. The caisson supplies water to two propulsion pumps and three cooling pumps.

    The flow rate of each propulsion pump is 3,05 m3/s. The flow rate of the cooling pumps is 0,69 m3/s each unit.

    The project studies the hydraulic operation of the whole system.

    Furthermore, the construction process is explained and developed, adapting it to the available resources on site.
