ALTERNATIVE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT FOR THE NEW DOLPHIN AT THE RIBERA I QUAY AT THE PORT OF CARBONERAS. ALMERÍA, SPAIN
QUAYS
- Place: Carboneras, Almería (Spain)
- Scope: Tender project
- Description:
The drafting of the Tender Project, adapting the Base Solution to the builder's resources moving from square to circular cell caissons and from 2 caissons to a single caisson with a length of 51.8 m. The structure has the same orientation as the current Ribera I Quay, separated by 88 m (between fenders).
The structure was defined as a Dolphin with a reinforced concrete floating caisson and anti-reflection chambers in order to reduce agitation and prevent the reflection caused by the waves from the directions where the breakwater is not able to absorb them from affecting the structure.
A complete caisson towing and superstructure study was done to define the necessary pre-slabs to support the girder.
