NEW SEA WATER INTAKE FACILITIES – IN ABU DHABI, EMIRATES
OTHER WATER INTAKES
- Start Date / End Date: 2008/2009
- Place: Ruwais (U.A.E.)
- Scope: FEED (Front End Engineering & Design)
- Description:
Define the overall project requirements, design data for common facilities and common design philosophies, with the intent of ensuring uniformity in design practices.
Located between existing Sea Water Intake -1 (SWI-1) and Sea Water Intake -2 (SWI-2) facilities
The scope of work includes the design / study / analysis for the major activities.
Most important characteristics of this project:
• Adequacy check and studies of existing Intake Channel feeding the SWI-1 facility, and to propose design modifications required to accommodate the new SWI-3 pump house and meet the additional seawater demand.• Design of Seawater Intake Structure (Pump Bay) to house the new FERTIL Seawater supply pumps.• Dredging studyDredging study
Stop Logs and Guide frames packages for isolation purposes.
Screening:
Coarse Screens (Bar Rake Screens)
Fine Screens (Traveling Band Screens)
Five new Seawater pumps of 17,500 m3/h capacity each
The Study of the hydraulic behavior of the canals in the pump house by CFD (Computational Fluid Design).
