


Following the award of the works, the design and optimisation of the piles is undertaken, both for the two transverse piers and for the breasting dolphins, based on the information obtained from the new geotechnical investigation campaign:
• The results of the campaign are analysed in order to establish calculation parameters for the piles: end-bearing resistance, shaft resistance and horizontal subgrade modulus, in each of the geotechnical units into which the ground has been modelled.
• A 3D finite element model is developed using Structural Analysis Software.
• The length of the piles (foundation depth) and their reinforcement are optimised.
• Technical Assistance is provided for carrying out Osterberg Cell tests. Based on the results, ground parameters are adjusted and the obtained results are further optimised.
