A series of studies are conducted to serve as the basis for the desalination plant tender. The studies performed are as follows: • Wave study: Based on deep-water wave data, design waves associated with return periods of 1, 10, 50, and 100 years are propagated using the SWAN model. All possible directions are propagated. Results are obtained at the future intake and discharge points. • Recirculation study. This includes diffuser design to comply with environmental legislation and a comprehensive recirculation study. It is ensured that with the defined intake location, there is no brine recirculation. The MOHID model is employed.
