The intake caissons of the Besós I and Besós II C.T.C.C. were redesigned and strengthened for their new use at the Besós V C.T.C.C.
Key tasks carried out included:
• Hydraulic adaptation of the existing caissons to the new requirements.
• Structural works:
• Surveying of the current condition
• Study and design calculations to strengthen the structure in the pump area.
• Study of elements to be demolished to accommodate the new equipment.
• Design and calculations for various structures to cover existing openings.
• Design of the civil works for the installation of the new equipment (gates, fixed and movable screens, screen-cleaning rakes, etc.).
• Design and calculations for the drainage network.
• Ongoing site support.
