The initial document for the Project is prepared to summarize the actions planned by the Port Authority of Huelva to enable the Port’s navigation channel for the anticipated new traffic.
This document is prepared to comply with Law 21/2013 on Environmental Impact Assessment, with the objective of requesting that the environmental authority prepare a scoping document for the environmental impact study.
The planned action includes:
• Increasing the depth of the navigation channel to elevation -14.5 m referenced to Port datum.
• New turning basin area in front of the South Wharf.
• Increasing the depth in the berthing basin and access area at the South Wharf and the South Wharf Extension.
Characterization of dredged material and descriptive plans of the action are included.
