The construction design of the desalination plant’s subsea pipelines is carried out. The two intake pipelines and the two outfall pipelines were installed simultaneously, connected by double ballast weights. The pipeline characteristics are:
• Material: PE100.
• Intake: 2 pipelines Di=1800 mm, L=3400 m, Q=3.07 m3/s
• Outfall: 2 pipelines Di=1600 mm, L=3982 m, Q=2.26 m3/s
A detailed study has been carried out of the following aspects:
• Study of installation alternatives.
• Ballast calculation.
• Design of single and double ballast weights (connecting the two intake pipelines and the two outfall pipelines for simultaneous installation).
• Structural calculations of the pipelines.
• Installation process.
• Transient analysis.
• Diffuser study.
