Praceres Submarine Outfall in Action

The submarine outfall of the Praceres WWTP, Pontevedra, is the longest of all those built to date in Galicia. It has a length of 3.7 kilometers and its main objective is to increase the transfer capacity of wastewater into the estuary. 

This project was designed by Increa for Copasa. The project included two sections: one using direct pipe (45″ diameter) and the other in HDPE (1,400 mm diameter) resting on the seabed. The outfall has a length of 2,900 meters.

This infrastructure has the capacity to channel 2,000 liters of water and to serve a population of 141,204 inhabitants for at least twenty years.
