INTAKE AND OUTFALL PIPELINES FOR THE SANITATION AND SUPPLY SYSTEM IN THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF LIMA, PERU.

INTAKE AND OUTFALL PIPELINES

INGENIERÍA CREATIVA PITA (INCREA)

  • Start Date / End Date: 2014/2015
  • Place: LIMA (PERU)
  • Scope: CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
  • Description:

The objective is to design and justify the marine intake and outfall pipelines for the water sanitation and desalination system through two HDPE 100 pipelines. The marine sections were started with directional drilling.

The characteristics of the outfall with a flow rate of 1.44 m3/s and a maximum depth of -22 m are:

            . Directional drilling of 298 m Øe=710mm SDR 17 and a supported section of 481 m Øe=900 mm, SDR 26
The characteristics of the intake with a flow rate of 1 m3/s and a maximum depth of -16 m are:
            . Directional drilling of 265 m Øe=1000mm SDR 17 and a supported section of 246 m Øe=1200 mm, SDR 26

The diffuser system is comprised of 5 raisers with an inside diameter of 0.5 m, two outlet ports per raiser.

The intake structure is designed with T-shaped lattice basket die. These intakes feature a compressed air applicator for adequate system maintenance.

The project also includes a complete marine climate study using the SWAN program.
