The project involves the design of the submarine intake and outfall pipelines for the desalination plant (IDAM), with part of the route using horizontal directional drilling and part laid on the seabed.
The characteristics of the pipelines are:
• Material: PE100.
• Intake external diameter: 1,000 mm.
• Outfall external diameter: 710 mm.
• Intake length: 789 m (388 m by HDD).
• Outfall length: 462 m (410 m by HDD).
• Diffuser section: 45 m, consisting of 16 diffusers.
A detailed study of the following aspects has been carried out:
• Route optimization, designing the horizontal directional drilling.
• Laying process.
• Intake structure and installation.
• Ballast design (1st and 2nd phase)
