The initial project document was drafted to summarize the actions planned by the Huelva Port Authority to adjust and prepare the ship channel at the Port for the new traffic expected.

This document was drafted to comply with Spanish Law 21/2013, Environmental Impact Assessment, in order to request that the Environmental Authority prepare a document with the scope of the environmental assessment study.

The expected work involves:

    •   An increase in ship channel water depth to -14.5 in elevation referenced to the 0 at the Port.
    •   A new turning area opposite the Southern Quay.
    •   An increase in water depth in the mooring pit and the entrance area to the Southern Quay and the Southern Quay Expansion.

Included is the characterization of the dredging material and descriptive drawings of the work.
