ENLARGEMENT OF THE FIRST JETTY SHELTERED BY BOTAFOC BREAKWATER FOR LARGE SHIPS (IBIZA, SPAIN)

- Description:
3 berthing dolphins are designed to enlarge jetty MT2 so that large Ro/Ro
and cruise ships could call in Ibiza. The final berthing lengths are 375 m
on the South side and 328 m on the North side:
1. Dolphins 1 and 2
• 17.80 x 28.70 x 2.20 m reinforced concrete deck
• 16 steel cased reinforced concrete piles
• 200 t bollards
2. Dolphin 3
• 17.80 x 9.80 x 2.50 m reinforced concrete deck
• 8 steel cased reinforced concrete piles
• 300 t bollards
All piles have a diameter of 2 m and their total length is 1835 m. Dolphin
structures were modelled with SAP2000.
Design ship data:
• Loa=339 m
• B=38.60 m
• D=8.50 m
• F=63.70 m
• Δ=71,000 t
