    A study of initial dilution (to define the diffuser section), dispersion and recirculation of the brine outfall for the new desalination plant.
    The study is to form a part of the Environmental Impact Assessment for the new desalination plant.
    The characteristics of the outfall are:
         • Flow rate: 1.47 m3/s
         • Effluent salinity: 65.3 g/l
         • Effluent temperature: 13ºC
         • Diffuser situated at 10 m in depth.
    After calculating the diffuser section using the CORMIX (CORJET) and VISUAL PLUME (UM3) model, the MOHID model was used to model the currents in the area (considering the ocean current, wind, tide, etc.) and the dispersion of the brine in the far field was calculated. Included was an intake salinity study.
