OPTIMISATION OF PILES FOR THE BOTAFOC ENHANCEMENT WORKS IBIZA, ISLAS BALEARES, SPAIN

  • Scope: Calculations and detailed design at a construction level.
  • Description:

    After the award of the works, the design and optimisation of the piles is undertaken, both in respect of the two transversal wharfs as well as the Pile Moorings, based upon the information provided by the new geotechnical campaign carried out:

        •     The results of said campaign are analysed, for the purposes of establishing calculation parameters for the piles: spot and shaft resistance and horizontal ballast modules, in each one of the geotechnical units in respect of which the terrain has been modelled.
        •    A finite elements model in 3D Structural Analysis Software.
        •    The length of the piles is optimised (depth of foundations) and the reinforcement thereof.
        •    Technical Assistance advisory services are provided in respect of the carrying out of Osterberg-Cell tests. With the results thereof, the parameters of the terrain are adjusted and the obtained results are optimised.
